Heavy Rain Warning for District North of Ruatoria & Watch for Rest of District
Weather warning covers the District North of Ruatoria and the ranges up to the Bay of Plenty east of Opotiki from 9:00pm tonight through to 10:00pm Thursday with a further 100 to 150mm expected on top of what has already fallen.
Weather watch covers the rest of the District south of Ruatoria from 8:00am Thursday morning to 1:00am Friday morning.
The heaviest rainfalls being at the top of the District with Waikura receiving 38mm, Rip 34mm, Oweka 28mm, Poroporo 22mm, Hicks Bay 19mm, Ruatoria 16mm, Te Araroa & Pakihiroa both 15mm.
For the rest of the District South of Ruatoria most rainfall figures have ranged from 3 – 6mm. So as you would expect with not much rain at this stage there is no movement in the river levels.
