Richard Jackson, a member of Emerald Hotel Body Corporate, told the Future Tairawhiti committee (all councillors and the mayor) the ‘‘pigeon problem’’ was so bad that Gisborne District Council, rather than building owners, should assume responsibility. Collect donations as part of our annual appeal in March 2019 by inspiring and encouraging the public to give to Red Cross.
The Red Cross Hamilton Service Centre will be holding a street collection in March 2019 - and we need your help! It only takes an hour or two to make a big difference.
It's very rewarding for you to be able to get out into your community, meeting and greeting people, encouraging them to donate, knowing that you're doing good too by supporting a great cause.
The time commitment is flexible, depending on your availability. Easy to use Tap & Go terminals will be available in some areas to accept card donations; training will be provided to collectors.
Express your interest by signing up by clicking at the link below. You could also add a fundraising partner. It would be great if everyone could work in pairs, it makes the day go quicker, you have someone to talk to and you can share the items that you carry.
Please feel free to forward this information on to friends and families or your work place to encourage people to volunteer their time.
