New Council
Now the elections are over I would like to say a big thankyou to everyone who cared enough to put their name forward for any position . Some of you will be elated , others a bit crestfallen , but you did yourselves and the district proud by being there . If the person you didn't vote for won please try to keep positive about who did , they will be doing their very best to improve our region . Congratulations to all who won a position and commiserations to those who didn't convince enough to vote for them , don't take it personally people , that's the nature of politics . Finally , congratulations Bernie Wanden

Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
