Traffic bylaw to discourage street racing nearly there in Palmerston North

Hi neighbours,

Palmerston North is a step closer to a bylaw change intended to discourage gatherings of antisocial street racing.

The rule changes would apply to known hot spots, and apart from exemptions for residents, businesses, emergency services and legitimate users, would ban light vehicles from those streets from 10pm to 4am.

Are there any other measures you think the city council and police should be considering?

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
