Double standards
We in NZ have endured a long period where the lonely death of loved ones with the distress of being unable to travel or attend a funeral or memorial for a family member has been horrible.
These two women who were allowed to enter NZ and stay in Auckland without the required isolation period and travel to Wellington before yhey were tested positive for coved 19 is hard to take.
Hard to believe two women can make the trip without a pit stop or coffee stop. But a pit stop??
If there was no time for isolation then entry should have been denied.
NZ people have endured video contact with the dying with no choice.
How many asymtomatic people are missed.
This strikes hard to those who have been thru lockdown and lost a loved one. No real isolation was accepted. Mind boggling
Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?
As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
-
0% Yes, supporting people is important!
-
0% No, individuals should take responsibility
-
0% ... It is complicated
