pure generousity during lockdown

Mary & Dennis from Levin

we would just like to acknowledge the outstanding act of generousity shown by two genuine Kiwi businessmen during our nations time of ordeal

Monty Patel of Tulsi restaurants in Wellington has donated 22 tonnes of brown basmati rice to foodbanks and Steve Lyttle of 100% pure NZ Honey in Timaru who donated nearly $500,000 worh of his companies honey products to charities & foodbanks
It's a shame that these men don't get the recognition & their acts of generousity don't have a higher profile in our media
Come on you sensation seeking journalists, how about some emphasis on this type of news

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
