The Election
Hi everybody! We are almost at the end of the election campaigning now and candidates will be awaiting the results on October 12th, soon after our meeting about what to do with Foxton's Memorial Hall. There will be many who have voted already but also many who haven't. [I received a call from a friend just a few minutes ago].
You will see from the voting papers that I am standing for both Horowhenua District Council and for re-election to the Foxton Community Board, where I am currently a member. [If you remember I used to make myself available for conversation, every Wednesday afternoon from 1.30 to 3.30 at Te Awahou Nieuwe Stroom]
To make things clear I can be elected to both Community Board and Council. However If I get sufficient support for Council I have to give up the Community Board seat - which is fine as I will volunteer to be the Council representative at Community Board meetings.
If you haven't voted, please do. Remember if you keep doing the same things you'll keep getting the same results - If you would like sensible change, you can elect me, John Girling, to Council with just two ticks!
Take care and enjoy the Spring!
Poll: 🤖 What skills do you think give a CV the ultimate edge in a robot-filled workplace?
The Reserve Bank has shared some pretty blunt advice: there’s no such thing as a “safe” job anymore 🛟😑
Robots are stepping into repetitive roles in factories, plants and warehouses. AI is taking care of the admin tasks that once filled many mid-level office jobs.
We want to know: As the world evolves, what skills do you think give a CV the ultimate edge in a robot-filled workplace?
