She denied any … View moreToday one of our Trustees found a professional dog walker allowing her 4 dogs off the lead to defecate in the Makino Stream in Awahuri Forest Kitchener Park. This was in spite of several notices advising that dogs must remain on a lead. One such notice was right in front of her car! She denied any knowledge of knowing this by--law. We hold education programmes for school children around the stream and there are also iwi eel traps in the vicinity. If any one knows who this lady is I would appreciate them advising me. There is a dog park at Manfeild for public use. Awahuri Forest Kitchener Park is a scenic reserve and no-one wants to see dog excrement especially not in the stream where it cannot easily be cleaned up. Thank you Jill Darragh (Chair, AFKP Trust)

This role could be fulfilled by one person employed for up to 40 hours per week or 2 part-time employees with the hours divided to suit their availability, particular skillsets and area of interest.
The work hours could be somewhat flexible, and we are open to the option of some work being completed from home – although it is essential that any employee is mainly based at the Art Centre and is very much seen as an accessible and integral member of the community.
The pay range is $25-$30 per hour negotiable in dependence upon skills and experience.

I need a handyman to take 4 mirrors off the concrete walls and re-hang. It will be a 2 man job as mirrors are heavy.

As a mostly volunteer-led organisation, our members know first hand the value and impact that a single volunteer can make in our communities. Imagine then how much can be achieved when several volunteers or even an entire street or neighbourhood decide to work together to achieve the same goal!
