HOMELESSNESS IN NEW ZEALAND
How bad is the homelessness situation in New Zealand now?
A house in Feilding had over 70 people apply to rent it.
I heard yesterday that people were unable to find a Motel in Taupo or Rotorua to stay in as all the Motels are full of the homeless.
I know someone who stayed in a Motel due to homelessnesss. It costs the taxpayers $1,000 a week.
With all the job losses, businesses gone and some people unable to pay mortgages things are only going to get worse.
While Tiny Homes aren't for everyone they would certainly help a lot of people. Why spend all this money on Motels with nothing to show for it at the end? There has to be other alternatives!
