Reward offer for gear stolen from field days
A man was shocked to find $20,000 worth of boating gear stolen during the Central Districts Field Days.
Brock Terry, who manages Taupo boating business Trev Terry Marine, was at the annual event displaying some of the company's boats when they were stripped of depth sounder and GPS units.
"They have taken four boats' worth of gear and fully stripped the boats so it has been someone who knows what they are doing," he said.
He said he is offering a $2000 reward for anyone with information leading to the return of the stolen electronics.
"It happened before lunchtime on Monday, March 17, as we had a boat picked up then by a trucking company and it was gone before they got there," he said. "It has been reported to police but we haven't heard anything since so get in touch with us or police if you know anything because there is a reward for getting the stuff back to us."
