My Food Bag- our Wairarapa taste test.
My Food Bag was launched Wairarapa this week and they agreed to give my family and I a free trial.
We got our week's package sent around on Monday morning.
Pretty fancy. It was all packed up in a multi-compartment recyclable box with wool insulation and ice packs to keep the perishables cool.
Lots of little My Food Bag-branded packages of condiments, cheeses, sauces and dry goods.
Included in the first box was the ring binder for easy storage of menus and of course the first week's menu plan and recipes.
It pays to take a few minutes to look through the recipes and assemble the ingredients accordingly.
Once we were organised, it was a ten-minute prep job with another 15 minutes to cook.
Our first meal was Asian steamed fish (moki) with Jasmine rice and steamed vegetables.
With a family of five (two adults, three kids 11,10, and 6) there was enough for all but not oodles left over.
The meal was extremely popular with everyone including the kids. The middle child even ate the spinach which was a big win for him.
The menu suggested leaving the spicy sauce to the side for the kids but our guys woofed it down sauce and all.
Conclusion: big thumbs up for the first meal of the week.
We will keep posting this week for the remaining four meals.
Remember we will draw the winner of a one-week free trial of My Food Bag for a Wairarapa Neighbourly member at the end of this month.

We want to know: How are you handling the "coffee math" in 2026? Are you still heading to your local for a chat and a caffeine fix, or has the cost of living changed your habits?
