It was World Book Day on the 23rd of April, so what better time to celebrate some of our talented residents who have published books.

They range from children’s books, to poems, from non-fiction to a first novel - and all are proof that there is no age limit when it comes to creativity!

Celebrate local film and filmmakers at the 4th Wairarapa Film Festival, an absolute Autumn gem for our region.

Wairarapa has been home to internationally celebrated filmmakers, including Vincent Ward, Barry Barclay, Jemaine Clement, Ramai Haywood, Sir Peter Jackson, and James Cameron.
As well as four days of film screenings with special guests presented at Regent 3 Cinemas, Masterton, there are workshops, artists talks, poetry and photographic displays. Its a wonderfully it's a rich festival and you'll discover the remarkable stories of our people and places, as the festival celebrates of local film, filmmakers and stories - past and present.

International Contemporary folk duo WE MAVERICKS Carterton Event Centre 26 May

Australian based duo We Mavericks have been called contemp-folk, alt-country and acoustic-pop, but no words capture their musical kinship, or the heartfelt way they relate to their audiences. Real-life troubadours they perform in Carterton on Sunday 26 May playing tracks from their forthcoming album. Victoria Vigenser (NZ) and Lindsay Martin (AU) interweave effortless strings, soulful vocals and driving rhythms to form a singular, intense musical voice.
