NZ Gardener together with Ryman Healthcare is once again looking for greenfingered good sorts – individuals or groups who use their gardening skills to help others. Tell us about the great gardeners doing right by your community, and they could be one of five finalists who will feature in the October magazine!
There are some amazing prizes up for grabs, so if you know a homegrown hero who is using their gardening skills for the greater good, nominate them now for Ryman Healthcare 2022 Gardener of the Year!
Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?
As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
So we want to hear what you think:

Featherston Memorial RSA: Music Quiz this Friday
The Featherston Memorial RSA’s next quiz is being hosted by the Featherston Vinyl Club this Friday 20th February.
Put a team together, test your musical knowledge and support the upkeep of the building, and new equipment for the Vinyl Club.
$10 per person, teams of up to six people. Email fstnrsaevents@gmail.com to register your team - please also include your team name.
The FVC DJs will spin some tunes after the Quiz to keep the party going. Non-members and new members welcome.

Builder Wanted or seeking builder (LBP).
We are looking for a semi-retired builder or solo LBP to supervise / co-work with me while I undertake an extension project as a self-build . Rates to be negotiated prior to commencement. Currently in the design stage at present with Architect. I have experience from past house builds so not a raw beginner, both in design and construction.
