Looking for a new home

Lee from Martinborough

Any pointers? My partner and I are looking for a property to rent in Martinborough or its wider environs from mid-July onwards. We’ve been here for four years in the same house, but the owners have plans for the property so we are on the hunt. Our last lease arrangement lasted 12 years, so we are consistent and long-term tenants. We’re middle aged, I am a public servant in Wellington and my partner works in Marti.
Clearly, we would love to stay in Martinborough, or somewhere semi-rural on the outskirts of town, however we are very realistic about the current state of the rental market and are open to explore opportunities as far North as Carterton.
Ideally, we are looking for a three-bedroom, fenced property, on a medium sized section. Realistically, we would consider a two-bedroom property, on a smallish section. I am confident that our current landlords will attest to our suitability as tenants.
Any suggestions would be very, very appreciated. Please PM us? Lee and Simon.

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”

We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?

Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.
