Rita Angus is one of New Zealand’s best loved artists, and her iconic and instantly recognisable pictures are highly prized in public and private collections.
Over the course of her lifetime (1908 - 1970) Angus created an astonishing body of work and made a significant impact on Aotearoa’s art scene.
To celebrate her life and work, Rita Angus: New Zealand Modernist I He Ringatoi Hou o Aotearoa is a thought-provoking and inspiring collection of over 70 distinctive works that depict a new and modern New Zealand. Closes 25 April. Free entry.
Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?
As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

Featherston Memorial RSA: Music Quiz this Friday
The Featherston Memorial RSA’s next quiz is being hosted by the Featherston Vinyl Club this Friday 20th February.
Put a team together, test your musical knowledge and support the upkeep of the building, and new equipment for the Vinyl Club.

Builder Wanted or seeking builder (LBP).
We are looking for a semi-retired builder or solo LBP to supervise / co-work with me while I undertake an extension project as a self-build . Rates to be negotiated prior to commencement. Currently in the design stage at present with Architect. I have experience from past house builds so not a raw beginner, both in design and construction.
