Have you spotted a rook on your property?
These large invasive birds are a problem in the Wellington region because they eat and destroy newly germinated seedlings, which sometimes means entire crops need to be re-sown.
We need to protect our region’s environment and economic wellbeing from damage, which is why we aim to remove rooks from our region by 2029.

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

Featherston Memorial RSA: Music Quiz this Friday
The Featherston Memorial RSA’s next quiz is being hosted by the Featherston Vinyl Club this Friday 20th February.
Put a team together, test your musical knowledge and support the upkeep of the building, and new equipment for the Vinyl Club.

The FVC DJs will spin some tunes after the Quiz to keep the party going. Non-members and new members welcome.
