Heavy rain for Wairarapa, the Tararua District, Marlborough and northwestern ranges of Nelson

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

A complex low system covers the North Island and Tasman Sea, directing a moist easterly flow across central New Zealand. This flow is expected to tend more southerly on Wednesday, easing the rain about central areas.

Periods of heavy rain are expected about Wairarapa, the Tararua District, Marlborough including the Sounds and the northwestern ranges of Nelson, and a heavy rain Warning is in force for these areas.

Heavy rain may cause streams and rivers to rise rapidly. Surface flooding and slips are also possible and driving conditions may be hazardous. People are advised to keep up to date with the latest forecasts in case other areas are added. Keep updated here

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
