FOOD BANK COLLECTION IS ON THIS WEDNESDAY
The annual Wairarapa street-wide collection of donated, non-perishable food items for FOOD BANKS happens again this Wednesday from 5.30pm. With the assistance of local service groups, emergency services, schools, community groups, volunteers plus Martinborough, Featherston, Greytown, Carterton & Masterton residents the collection is ON.Simply leave your donation on or near your letterboxs or listen for the sirens around town and meet the collectors. If you miss the collection for any reason please leave your donation at your local supermarket or fire station. NON PERISHABLE FOOD ITEMS - please give generously.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
