After debate around whether Matariki should become a public holiday, ACT leader David Seymour said he was "open" to public holidays being scrapped in New Zealand - well, all but Anzac and Waitangi.

He says people should be able to make their own holiday arrangements, rather than the Government telling us when to take the day off.

We want to know your thoughts. Should people be able to make their own holiday arrangements? Or should we leave our holidays as is?

The Rev Liz Greville and Aunty Mihi conducted the blessing after Aunty Mihi named the room Rūma Rangimarie, meaning Room of Peace...so apt.
Bronnie Hutchinson of Idesign has worked tirelessly over the last 12 months to bring her vision to life for the makeover of the Medical Room into a patient and caregiver therapy room, donating all her expertise, time, travel and discounts.
This beautiful space will transport those receiving a wellness therapy to a place of calm and peacefulness.

Therapies such a gentle touch massage, podiatry, aromotherapy, reflexology, reiki, nail treatments, makeovers, haircuts and ear clinics will be held in Rūma Rangimarie.

Hospice Wairarapa are indebted to the Pharazyn and Muter Trusts administered by Treadwell Lawyers and Trust House for grants given to undertake the upgrade and the following businesses for their contribution of donated or discounted goods or services: Rigg-Zschokke, Resene, Colourplus, Mackenzie's Carpet Court, Laminex Group, Trimform Joinery, Plumbing World Masterton, Sparkies, Plumbing and Heating Solutions, NF Plumbing, CE&R, Basford Brands, The Work Room, The Yes Man, Designer Court, Lorna Potter, Poppies at Home and Women Together in Business. Without their support this simply would not have been possible.
