Dog abuse
Did anyone this afternoon witness a man with a big stick abusing a doberman dog at the green island dogpark? The doberman is now suffering welts from the stick and may need vet attention. The owner tried to protect his dog while the man also got in the owners face and accused him of his dog being vicious. Not the case as witnesses will attest to. The doberman is a very gentle and loving & loyal dog and those who know both owner & dog will support this. If anyone knows the culprit with the stick as photo shows, please report this incident to the DCC animal control.. any abuse to person or animal is NOT OK. Appreciate your support and help for this. This is the second time this person has taken offence to the doberman.

Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
