Barnes Dance - bewitched and bewildered!
Commencement of new traffic flows through Central Dunedin. Twenty mins ago went to go from Princes St Subway to Library. Traffic lights not quite organised so lollypop bearers directing wheeled traffic through Princes St/ Octagon intersection. Traffic halted. Pedestrians dithered, crossed Princes St, others hesitated at Octagon crossing. I looked at attendant at diagonal point on central carriageway, looked again and marched across Barnes-Dance style. He told me I was first/only one in several hours. I dread to think what traffic will be like tomorrow when George St intersection is included! And will the pedestrians take up the advantage?
