Business of the Future Now - Proven Recession Resilience.

Alister from Dream Big New Zealand

Hi, I’m Alister & I’m a young 66-year-old still with Big Dreams and a desire to Control my Future.

Hi, I’m Alister & I’m a young 66-year-old still with Big Dreams and a desire to Control my Future.

It is interesting being back in lockdown. Now I have a bit of time to reflect on the past few years and contemplate how my “Future Self“ will look back on the next few years.

Looking back from today - in 2007/8 I was married and living a very belated OE in London. Seemed like a good idea at the time but the GFC changed that opportunity Big Time.

Arriving back in New Zealand with more debt than we had when leaving and no real direction I went on a downward spiral; jobs I did not enjoy, a very flat real estate market, a failed traditional business and a failed marriage. I felt drained and empty. My anxiety levels were high, I had no direction or idea how to get out of the mess I had created but through it all I still held a vision of a life of Abundance and Prosperity !

So, as we head into Spring, I would like to spread some hope and love which may be a little infectious. My finances are under control, I live a simple life with a lot of love and joy, I’m very grateful for what I have and for each and every day.

I did come across the right vehicle to take me on my journey towards a life of Abundance and Prosperity. With my new partner we are failing our way to success.

What is it about our vehicle to success? Firstly, it takes an investment of both time and money (very modest c.f traditional businesses) and also:

• Surrounding ourselves with like-minded people who will support, love and back you with a Win:Win philosophy
• Having the attitude of ‘yes, I can’ (I started with the end in mind)
• Success leaves clues following Leaders that have been there, done that. Follow daily activities for success
• Being willing to let go and to surrender “Hold on Tight to your Dream” leave the how and when to the Universe.
• Have an attitude of continuous improvement to quote Dr Wayne Dyer “When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change".

Personal growth is a bit like showering - it needs to be done daily so said the late Jim Rohn.

People will say “I don’t have the money to start”
• Not many do however once you have decided to start use your entrepreneurial spirit and imagination to find the funds.

“Sounds like a Scam “
• With over 16 years of proven success operating globally within legislation backed by award winning personal development and wealth creation products delivered online which cost well in excess of $ 1 million to produce all assisting people to grow. Sounds legit to me.

Is this “too good to be true”
• Great question - there are hundreds of people who say this is So GOOD and SO TRUE. Training and business systems are world class. Our systems work. Do you have the will, energy and motivation to open yourself to learning new skills and developing your self?

To is a preposition with several meanings, including “toward” and “until.”
Too is an adverb that can mean “excessively” or “also.”
Two is also pronounced the same as to and too, but it can’t be used instead of either of them because it’s a number.

Did you know 1 in 4 New Zealand adults will suffer from a mental disorder or distress at some point in their lives? When they do, let’s make sure they don’t have to go it alone. To create safer, more caring communities we need to not only look after ourselves but those around us as well.

For the month of September, we want to come together to share ways to boost mental health and well-being. For example, you could host an online catch up or quiz, call a neighbour who lives alone, challenge your family and friends to try a new hobby or move your body more to improve your own well-being. If you or someone you know is going through a rough patch, don’t forget you can call or text 1737 anytime for free support from a trained counsellor.

Want to share your thoughts? Let us know how you’re looking out for your well-being and helping others with theirs this month by tagging us in your social media posts or emailing us your photos, videos, or experiences to: info@neighbourhoodsupport.co.nz

Dear neighbours,

We're looking for lockdown gardening ideas! With New Zealanders stuck at home everyone is keen to get into their gardens, but they can't get to the shops to buy plants and seeds. So we want to hear from you some suggestions for crops you can start or sow from what you have on hand or useful gardening hacks using just what you have at home already without going to the shops.

It doesn't have to be a big idea - just something like growing spring onions from the base or sprouting avocado seeds to make a houseplant. Send your tips and ideas to mailbox@nzgardener.co.nz and we'll publish the best ideas in NZ Gardener.

Make sure you include your full name and address - only your name and the region you live in will be published but if we use your tip we will send you a free copy of the magazine.

Print apprentice Travis Jordan was named the Print Industry Apprentice of the Year, while Alex Huynh won the Workplace Trainer of the Year. For Travis, the award is an acknowledgement of the time and effort he has put into his craft.

“It’s really special and a reminder that you get out what you put in,” he says. “The award is something I’ll happily carry with me throughout my career.”

It's awesome to see not only one of our apprentices getting recognition, but also the skilled team member who trained him winning an award.

All regions outside of the Auckland and Northland region will move to Alert Level 3 11.59pm Tuesday August 31.

In a press conference Friday afternoon, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern confirmed that Auckland and Northland will likely need to complete a further full two weeks at level 4 in order to keep the Delta variant from spreading further in the regions.

Here's what you need to know
- There will be regional boundaries, there will be no travel allowed between regions unless required for essential services.
- Boundaries maintained in the last February lockdown will be reinstated.
- Around 500 locations of interest have been identified.
- The exposure site in Warkworth is a large workplace. Ardern hoped the people of Northland will understand why they're moving with caution. Northland won't always be grouped in with Auckland.

This is such a beautiful quote. It's been created in gold to represent The Master Work of alchemy... turning less precious elements into more precious ones.. more precious because they are uncommon...

The Master Work is not a common journey so those that learn & do it are few... when a mind like this shares it's wisdom... it has the potential to ignite in the heart of the listener... a spark of awareness of their true life path.

The other morning we were listening to an audiobook about Near Death Experiences (NDEs) & there was a common thread that ran through each story. The soul temporarily free of it's body was shown a review of their life by the spirit of God (an unconditionally loving energy)... they felt first hand the suffering they had caused others & they were also shown moments in alignment with God.

God aligned moments (aka love) were often the smallest of things the person had no memory of until they were shown it again. The message was these small, kind gestures reflect the heart of God. The soul got to feel what that meant to the other person. Maybe they were kind to someone who many are mean to or maybe it was when they held a heavy door open for an elderly person.

I believe that my own life journey has the purpose of teaching me first hand the importance of compassion & empathy. We can be infinitely resilient when we believe our life has a meaning & a purpose. A resilience & peace that surpasses all understanding. I feel with my limited human understanding that I have embraced this lesson deeply into my heart & being.

It's almost like my life review is happening now during my life - with this thread anyway. It is of the utmost importance to me to treat others with compassion & empathy because my life has blessed me with an ever-present awareness of what the absence of these does to the human heart. I endeavour to never to be the cause of someone feeling that way.

As I've grown in wisdom I've also become a lot more discerning of what I am accountable for & what I am not. A new behaviour of mine is to let go of other people's responsibilities. They may have themselves utterly convinced that I am the cause of their pain & they may have even convinced the whole world of that too. And it doesn't touch me. To pick up somebody else's responsibility would be to deny them of their most powerful lessons & potential growth.

The most loving, compassionate & empathic thing I could do for anyone is to allow them to be, to learn & to grow & to fully accept the freedom we all have to do so or not. At this time in my life I am not interacting with many people on a daily basis. I initially felt sad while listening to the NDE audiobook that I wasn't exercising acts of compassion & empathy toward others on a daily basis.. yet I've just realised well actually I do. Every time I connect with the energetic world & simply observe the physical world go by / do what it does / that is an act of compassion & empathy & forgiveness.

It is also not wise or recommended to connect by interacting with energies that are not in alignment with our goals & purpose. When I am operating completely from my mind / ego I have reactive moments of judgement. And then my higher self teaches me "Every time you connect with energies not aligned with yours you are choosing to alter your own energy in a direction that is not true to you".

Keep it light & bright. Keep the focus on oneself's journey & goals & give energy ONLY to things aligning with that. Master your mind, master your life. Every time we get distracted by other energies we are diluting our power, messing with our mix.

I've been reminded of the importance of connecting regularly throughout my waking moments with God. To get still, slow down & deepen my breathing & be. Connecting with God energy is an infinite source of unconditional love & is the source of everything I will ever need. I realised that although I am not interacting with people much these days... God is there all the time, anytime... the most beautiful mind of all is this one... always honest, always has my best interests at heart, unconditionally loving, infinitely inspiring.
