URGENT: Dunedin residents, please avoid drinking tap water

Elesha Gordon from Neighbourly.co.nz

Dunedin residents are being warned not to drink from the public water supply because of contamination concerns. All residents and businesses in the Central Business District, North Dunedin, Leith Valley, Woodhaugh and the Warehouse Precinct are being advised to boil all drinking water.

There was an issue with water quality. It is isolated to the north end of the city. The City Council says they are working to resolve the issue.

COUNCIL ADVICE:
- Boil all drinking water. Zips do not boil water sufficiently. Water needs to be through a rolling boil for at least one minute and filtered water should be boiled for at least one minute.
- The council is working on providing water tankers so there is a supply available.
- If you are in an affected area flush run your taps for 10-15 minutes. This will flush the water and will help with the cleaning process.
- If you have a water tank please empty it so it can be refilled with clean water.
- If you are in an affected area and have water drawn from the tap since Monday, tip it out and do not drink it.
- As a precaution use hand sanitiser after washing your hands.

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Press investigates the growing reliance on your unpaid labour.

Automation (or the “unpaid shift”) is often described as efficient ... but it tends to benefit employers more than consumers.

We want to know: What do you think about automation?
