ANNUAL HARBOUR CONE HIKE
Whoo hoo ... the Annual Hereweka Harbour Cone Hike is back !! As part of the Wild DUNEDIN Festival, the Hike is being held on Sunday 12th April 2026.

This self-guided marked hike around the Harbour Cone property features interpretative signs that tell you the history and values of this interesting and beautiful area. You will be able to visit and learn more about some of the historic farmsteads and climb to the summit of Harbour Cone if you are so inclined.
You will pass the restored historic stone wall work and meet the talented stone masons. There is also an option to visit Larnachs Farm and see the recent restoration work on the Byre.
Enjoy the amazing views whilst exploring a part of the Otago Peninsula you may have never seen.
This is a FREE event for those walkers with a moderate level of fitness who want enjoy the area in their own time. It’s perfect for getting your kids out in the great outdoors to blow off their excess steam!
A free BBQ and toilets will be provided approximately halfway round the hike. You will need good walking shoes, suitable clothes for the conditions, plenty of water and your camera. Because this is a working farm please leave your dog at home.

Whether it’s a courgette takeover or a feijoa frenzy, don’t let those garden gems go to waste!
Our suggestion to you: Did you know you can grate and freeze excess courgettes to use in chocolate cake later? It sounds a bit dodgy, but it makes the cake incredibly moist ... and hey, it counts as a serving of veg, right? 🍫
