We are looking for more amazing community groups to join the ‘Bags for Good’ programme. The programme focuses on supporting local community groups that are helping the young people and families of their community. All of the money comes from the plastic bags sold at the checkouts and is a great way to fundraise money. As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
