BECKETT, Donald Ian (Ian)

After a courageous battle, Ian passed away peacefully at home, on Friday, June 9, 2023, aged 70 years. Much loved father and father-in-law of Graeme and Melissa, grandad of Oakley. Son of the late Albert (Cecil) and Alice. Loved brother and brother-in-law of Beverley, Margaret, Warren, Maureen and Donald, Tommy and the late Annette, Peter, Pat, Ross, Robyn, Susan, Roger, the late Cathy, and the late Grant. A fondly remembered uncle. A dear friend to Ross, Al and Denise, Liz, Mark and Vanya, Sally, Bill, Jack, Phil, Ronnie, Johnny, Jim, Tony, and the late Janet, among others, and beloved dog dad of Speights. In accordance with Ian’s wishes, a private cremation has been held, and a celebration of his life and the scattering of his ashes will be held at his Tinkertown home from 2.00pm on Saturday, July 15, 2023. All welcome. Sincere thanks to Hospice Southland and the District Nurses for their care of Ian over the past two years. Special thanks to Ross for his unwavering support of Ian, and for taking on his beloved dog. May his will to live, even in his final weeks, serve as a reminder to us all to never give up. LUSBY, Stanley Richard

Aged 82. Born London, England, October 2, 1940, died Moeraki May 30, 2023. International Hydrographic and Land Surveyor. Dearly loved father of Galina, Benedict (dec.), and Adam. A service will be held to commemorate Stan’s life on July 8, 2023, at 2.00pm, at St Alban’s, Pleasant Point, South Canterbury. A celebration of Stan’s life will be held in Moeraki, January 6, 2024. Passed away peacefully at Whanganui Hospital on Tuesday 13th June 2023, aged 80 years. Much loved Husband and Soulmate of Colleen. Precious Dad of Lyndon and Kris, Jacinda, and Bradley and Evelyn. Much loved Pops of Mikayla, Leighton, and Sara and Mark. Special thanks to the staff of the Medical and Surgical Wards at Whanganui Hospital & the Oncology Ward at Palmerston North Hospital. Friends are invited to a celebration of Colin’s life in the Forrest Lawn Chapel, 208 Guyton Street, Whanganui, at 1.00pm on Monday 19 June, 2023, to be followed by a private interment.

Passed away peacefully after illness 6 June 2023, aged 82 years. Dearly loved widow of Brian and Loved mother of Mike, Simon and Annie. Mother-in-law of Sally, Yacine and Ed. Nanny to Amanda and Tom. Sister-in-law of Richard and Margie, and Aunt of Andrew, Chris and Melissa. In lieu of flowers, donations to Wellington Free Ambulance would be appreciated.

HOEBERGEN, Marius Joseph Henricus Maria (Harry)

Aged 81 years. Passed away peacefully and reunited with his beloved Val on June 13, 2023. Cherished father to Nick, Michael, Maria and Dean. Loved father-in-law to Ema, Bianka, Tony and Belinda. Adored Poppa to Michael, Harrison, Carlos, Valerie and Madison. In accordance with Harry’s wishes, a private Requiem Mass was held at the St Mary’s Chapel, 47 Clyde St, Hamilton. (formerly of Invercargill). On June 12, 2023, at Dunedin Hospital, with family by her side; aged 85 years. Loved daughter of the late Frederick (Jack) and Dorothy (Invercargill), loved sister and sister-in-law of Roger and Helen (Winton), Anne (Australia), Margaret and Tony Gilbert, Neale and Joyce (Christchurch), loved Aunty of all her nieces and nephews. Paul left us peacefully after a short illness on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, aged 91, at Christchurch Hospital. Loving husband of the late Margaret Fay, and loved Dad to their daughters Margaret, Paulette, Nancy, Yvonne, and all their families. Special thanks to the nursing staff who took special care of Dad. As per Paul’s wishes, a private cremation has already taken place.

Died peacefully at home, in his 76th year. Son of Sir Russell and Lady Matthews (deceased), dearly loved partner of Seng Cheah, much loved brother and brother-in-law of Elizabeth (Matthews) and Dave (deceased), Benney (Boston, USA), Jill (deceased) (Matthews), and John Caughey (Wanaka), and John and Lynda Matthews (New Plymouth), and much loved uncle and great-uncle to his many nephews and nieces. In line with Richard’s wishes no funeral will take place and a private cremation has already occurred.

Much loved Dad of Mark, Grant, and Jason. Treasured Grandad of Brian, Charlotte, Matthew, Rachel, Jordan, Samuel, Emma, Hayden, Rebekah, Eric, Marina, Jade, and Danilo.
