Regt No 434874 (Army) F438879 (Air Force). Peacefully at Parkwood Lodge, Waikanae, aged 101 years. Dearly loved husband of Molly Jenkins (deceased) and Margaret Stewart (deceased). Loved son of the late Edward and Louise Mathews, and brother and brother-in-law of the late Ray and Pat Mathews. Loved by his nieces and nephews Mary & Eric Godber, Paula Whiteacre, John & Janet Mathews, Peter Mathews & Lynley Hill, Anne & Greg West-Walker, and Kevin Mathews, and all their families. Thanks to the staff at Parkwoods, Waikanae, for their care of Uncle John over many years. To celebrate 101 years of life his Requiem Mass will be held at St Theresa Catholic Church, Main Rd, Karori, at 11.00am
on Saturday 6 May 2023 preceded by the rosary commencing 10.00am. After the Mass, John will be interred at Makara Cemetery, and everyone is welcome to attend to pay their respects.
