Death

Passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, aged 94. Dearly loved wife and best friend of the late Rex. Adored mother of Jenny and Jeff, and mother-in-law of Sally. Cherished grandmother of Scott, James, Sam, Janet, Claire, and Jaime. Loved Great-Grandma Jan of Willow, Jack, Coral, Isabel, Hamish, Calum, George and Juliet. Much loved daughter of the late Bert and Margaret Barnes of Spotswood and sister of Margaret, Helen, Barb, Peter, Tom, Ian, Anne and Jude and their spouses. Loved aunt, great-aunt and great-great-aunt of many nieces and nephews. Well-loved by many extended family members and friends. Grateful thanks to Vicky, Martin, Lyn and the staff at Ngaio Marsh for their sensitive and loving care. A celebration of Jan’s life will be held in the John Rhind Chapel, entrance from Whitmore Streets and London Streets, Christchurch, on Monday, February 13, at 1.00pm.
