What do you think of the Hundertwasser Art Centre's rooftop park?

Denise Piper Reporter from Whangārei Leader

The southern hemisphere's largest afforested roof is starting to take shape in Northland. The first of 150 trees were lifted onto Whangārei’s Hundertwasser Art Centre on Tuesday, helping to create a rooftop park with 4000 plants. The building is the last architectural project that the famous Austrian artist Friederich Hundertwasser was involved with before his death in 2000. What do you think of the rooftop park?

MBIE Recalls booster seat due to safety concerns

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

A booster seat has been recalled due to the chance of malfunctioning in the event of a crash.

The booster seat, the Diono Cambria 2, has been recalled by MBIE as the headrest could crack or break in a collission. The recall notice warns that the headrest may detach, causing serious injury to an infant or child.

Here's what you need to know:
- Units affected are those manufactured between September 2020 and November 2020.
- The first six digits of the serial number for the recalled range is: 648735.
- Only use the affected Diono seat as a backless booster seat until replacement units are available.
- Replacement headrests will be available in the next month.

Affected product owners can find out more about the recall on the Diono Website or get in touch with them on 0800 34 66 66.

STOLEN

Alison Shrigley Reporter from Whangārei Leader

This painting was STOLEN from outside the back of Jesse Rose's store in Kamo last week while it was drying. It is especially SPECIAL because the artist is only learning and was really proud of her efforts.

UPDATE- it may look like we got the stolen painting back, But Sadly no- we haven’t. Despite huge efforts to try and do so.. and some truly AMAZING support of the public... (The post I wrote to say the painting had been stolen, has been shared over 440 x already online, so it’s definitely getting out there..)
It’s out of our hands now, but we are still hopeful it will be recovered., so keep sharing... as we Know people have seen this painting/will see this painting.
But in the meantime I printed off the only photo we had, which was an unfinished picture (the stolen painting had been finished) onto fine art paper, and then Melissa finished the final details ...(for the second time)

And that way we were able to include the painting in the exhibition on Saturday night!

Of course not the same as having the original painting- but it was something 🖤

This fantail will have quite a story behind it,

And I know one day (hopefully) it will make its way back to the owner..

If you know anything about this, please let Jesse Rose know on 021 155 6803, or return it to 575 Kamo Road, Kamo, Whangārei 0112.
