WHANGAREI BIRD RESCUE

Brian from Langs Beach - Waipu

Disappointed to read Northpower have cut their annual donation to our famous Whangarei Bird Rescue. Robert and Robyn work tirelessly and don't deserve to have to go looking for Sponsorship. Northpower has a monopoly for power in our District and surely $14000 p.a won't make a hole in their funds...I am sure if enough of us protest this decision and remind them it extremely NEGATIVE...a rethink with the publicity will be a POSITIVE STATEMENT and will probably be worth than what is required!..I have had 3x accounts with Northpower (some commercial) for 3 x decades and this does not sit well with me, nor many of my family and friends....I have written to Mr Macmillan WILL YOU??

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
