Good morning Neighbourly friends, here at Orewa Red Cross we are wanting your unwanted clothing, homeware, toys, books and puzzles. All goes to a good cause, feel free to donate between 9am - 5pm Tuesday - Saturday. Our address is Hilary square, Orewa, behind McDonald’s. for any larger items we can organise a collection, thank you!

The Environmental Protection Authority announced this week that a proposed mine in Central Otago (near Cromwell) is about to enter its fast-track assessment process. A final decision could come within six months, and if it’s approved, construction might start as early as mid-2026.
We want to know: Should mining projects like this move ahead?
