Private well owners in North Canterbury urged to get water tested
Owners of private wells are urged to have their water tested regularly after one in North Canterbury was found to contain arsenic.
The arsenic is thought to be naturally occurring, though further investigation will be carried out by the Waimakariri District Council.
Council utilities and roading manager Gerard Cleary said there was no need for people to be concerned if their drinking water was supplied by a council reticulated water scheme.
