Give us a Helping Hand!

Mitre 10 Mega Nelson

This coming Thursday, August the 16th, join us, NMIT and members of the community at Kellys Bush in Enner Glynn Road for another great Mitre 10 MEGA Nelson Helping Hands Project.

This is a priceless piece of NZ Native bush, home to the rare Nelson Green Gecko, and the Parera duck. We will be improving their habitat by planting trees, doing some landscaping and some building.

Call Murray on 5470887 or email murray.leaning@meganelson.co.nz if you want to help.

There will be a dawn blessing at 6.30am, and we will provide an awesome BBQ lunch and drinks. Bring boots, rainwear and a spade or grubber if you have one.

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
