The Prime Minister and the Director-General of Health are currently providing an update to media in the Beehive.
Ardern has confirmed that health authorities have found a possible person to person link for how Case M and N picked up Covid-19. This could eliminate concern that there are other chains of transmission to identify.
Ashley Bloomfield asked people to keep an eye out for atypical symptoms
"This new variant of the virus, the B117, does seem to be presenting with symptoms that are not the typical respiratory symptoms," he said.
If you have muscle aches, do consider this might be a Covid-19 symptom.

Auckland is now at Alert Level 3 and the rest of the country will move to Alert Level 2 until at least 6 March.
Here's what you need to know:
- Case M, the latest Covid-19 case, is a 21-year-old male, the older sibling of a Papatoetoe High School student.
- If you have symptoms of concern, call the NZ Covid-19 Healthline on 0800 358 5453 or call your GP.
- Find your closest Covid-19 testing location on the Healthpoint website
- Essential services such as supermarkets and pharmacies will remain open.
- Customer-facing businesses will need to move to non-contact methods of payment and collection.

The test is quick, clean and simple to do. You do it by… View moreThe National Bowel Screening Programme is free for men and women aged 60 to 74 years who are eligible for publicly-funded healthcare. It aims to save lives by finding bowel cancer at an early stage when it can often be successfully treated.
The test is quick, clean and simple to do. You do it by yourself at home.
If you’re eligible to take part, you will be sent:
• an invitation letter
• a consent form
• a free bowel screening test kit, with instructions on how to use it.
This will happen not long after your 60th birthday.
Done it once? Do it again.
Screening is offered every two years, so if you have done a test before and returned a negative result, you will be offered a second test two years after you did the first one if you are still eligible. Your second test is just as important as the first one.
Haven’t quite gotten there yet?
If you received a test kit in the post in the past two years but didn’t complete it, you will be given another chance to take the test. You will be sent a test kit two years after you were sent the first one if you are still eligible.
Worried about your bowel health?
The programme is for people who do not have any symptoms of bowel cancer. It is a preventative programme that finds bowel cancer at an early stage before you may notice any symptoms.
If you are experiencing symptoms, such as a change in your normal bowel movements that continues for several weeks or blood in your bowel motion (poo), it is important to seek advice from a doctor who may refer you for a specialist assessment.
If you are aged 60-74 and experiencing symptoms, don’t wait to receive your test kit in the post – see a doctor as soon as you can. The same applies if you are younger than 60, or older than 74.

The Tasman District Council has raised water restrictions in some towns and suburbs in the region to Phase C.
The Tasman District's Dry Weather Taskforce met on February 17 to set restrictions for the coming week.
Phase C restrictions will be in place for residential households and public organisations that are on the Dovedale reticulated supply only. Businesses on this supply will be at Phase B restrictions.
Here's what you need to know:
- As with Phase B restrictions, you cannot water lawns, top up water features (such as a pool or spa), or use any water for play.
- You may only water your garden with a trigger nozzle or timer system on every second day.
- Washing vehicles is only permitted with recycled grey water and any other outdoor washing must be done with a bucket.

The Tasman District Council has raised water restrictions for some towns and suburbs in the region.
The Phase B water restrictions came into force today, with the restrictions only applying to public water supplies. The Tasman District's Dry Weather Taskforce decided on the water restrictions February 3.
Taskforce convenor Dennis Bush-King said last week that weather conditions so-far had delayed water restrictions, but dry weather throughout January mean water levels were now declining.
What you need to know:
- The new restrictions are in effect for Richmond, Hope, Brightwater, Redwood Valley, Māpua/Ruby Bay and Wakefield.
- You cannot water lawns, top up water features (such as a pool or spa), or use any water for play.
- You can wash outdoor areas with a handheld hose with a trigger nozzle. Watering gardens with hose fitted with a trigger nozzle is also permitted, but only every second day.

Here's what you need to know:
- The Prime Minister says there's a variety of scenarios on how the virus got into the community. To date, health officials are still attempting to establish the source of the outbreak.
- 42 people have been identified as close contacts.
- The first batch of Pfizer vaccines - 60,000 doses - arrived this morning on a Singapore Airlines flight.
- Vaccines will be offered to border and MIQ workers from this Saturday.
- This will be the largest vaccine programme in New Zealand's history, Jacinda Ardern says.

All regions outside Auckland have moved to Alert Level 2.
Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern addressed the nation at 7.00pm Sunday, announcing all regions excluding Auckland, will move to Alert Level 2 from 11.59pm tonight.
Here's what you need to know:
- Gatherings of more than 100 people are prohibited.
- Mask use is encouraged when it is difficult to maintain physical distancing.
- From 11.59pm tonight, travel to Auckland will no longer be possible with the heightened alert level - unless you are returning home.
