CHRISTCHURCH visit: Rami Sherman-Operation Entebbe: a personal recollection: August 20
Rami Sherman was an operations officer in the special forces squad that successfully rescued 102 of 106 hostages from terrorists at Entebbe International Airport in 1976. He is travelling through NZ and is giving a series of public addresses to tell his fascinating story.
It turns out that a New Zealander was also amongst the hostages, Colin Hardie, who used to be an editor of the Christchurch Star. The local papers wrote about Colin here: www.nzherald.co.nz... and here: www.pressreader.com...
Rami Sherman will be speaking on Sunday, August 20, at 2PM, at the Air Force Museum lecture theatre, Wigram, Christchurch
A collection will be taken at the Christchurch event to help defray costs.
