The Press has teamed up with the Rod Donald Banks Peninsula Trust on its Te Ahu Pātiki project, to help raise enough money to buy a 500-hectare block between Mt Herbert and Mt Bradley.
The aim is to make sure the public will always have access to a sprawling network of popular walking tracks, and to let the whole block return to native bush.
A Givealittle page was launched this morning to help the trust overcome its last hurdle. Click the links below to read the full story and donate.

Christchurch's beer academy is spreading the word of good beer-making through expert classes with some of New Zealand's top brewers.
Brew Academy was launched in July 2019 by former plumber Granville Denton, 43, but he struggled to get it off the ground at first – a problem exacerbated when the Covid-19 pandemic hit early last year.

It said neighbours had raised concerns about the size of the garden and access to a washing line.
Wang had lovingly tended the garden at her Addington social housing unit for the past 10 years. She grew 14 kinds of vegetables and 13 varieties of rare Chinese herbs. One small patch of Chinese radish remains.
ŌCHT has “unreservedly apologised” for not telling Wang it planned to bring the digger in on Monday, but it stands by its decision to turn the garden into grass.
However, on Wednesday, ŌCHT tenancy operations manager Martin Pearce said the trust wanted to make things right and raised beds would be installed at the end of this week.

Here the girls go through their drills, demonstrating surprising precision for so many pupils from so many schools. The open-air movement has highlighted the need for physical fitness training and the virtues of outdoor activity. Schools have responded with regular drill sessions and outdoor games. With increasing numbers of children seen to be destined for sedentary lifestyles, and with the British Empire at war with the Axis forces, fitness and hardiness are being strongly promoted.

It's not a Trumpian conspiracy perpetrated by the dark forces of evil lurking in the shadows of Neighbourly!! you must carefully consider the fact that your post is either Rubbish or Gibberish or perhaps a combination of both!! If you feel the need to rant and bleat perhaps you could take a stance in the town square with a megaphone and have your say there, what a great way to exercise your right to free speech that is being denied to you on this platform.
