There was also a lot of other families affected by the events of 1 year ago and they will be remembered as well.

After the minutes silence Hornby Community Board Member Mr Mark Peters will lead us in prayer followed by addresses to those present from Hornby Councillor Cr Jimmy Chen and then our Community Board Chairperson and Hornby Ward Community Board Member Mr Mike Mora. Public will then be asked if anyone wants to speak.

Residents are encouraged to bring flowers and/or messages of support and place them at the Springs Road Dairy on Sunday to show our support.

If anyone has contact with the Riccarton Cricket Club we would love them to be represented at the rememberance.

Gone are the days of getting one qualification out of school to see you through your working life. Now, upskilling, online courses and on-the-job training are all part of making your way up the career ladder.

We want to talk to people who have completed micro-credentials, bitesize qualifications for specific skills.

Perhaps you've pieced together a full qualification by doing online courses, or maybe you've taken a workshop rather than investing in a six-month course. We'd love to hear from you - email josephine.franks@stuff.co.nz
