Happy Holidays from TechMate
What a busy year 2019 has been for TechMate - and chock full of amazing results. We helped more than 70 families get low-cost internet; 30 people received their own Chromebook through the Computers in Homes programme; many people earned Digital Licences by learning how to keep themselves and their families safer online; we started running free, weekly Stepping Up taster courses; and we hosted over 300 one-on-one digital technology learning sessions.
To TechMate clients, friends and supporters we thank you for being part of our 2019 journey and wish you a very joyful and safe holiday season. We look forward to seeing you again in 2020.
Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?
As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
