Water Wastage
This has been an ongoing gripe of mine for the past 3 years, even more so now that CCC is charging households for using "too much" water.
The local cricket club turns the water on the cricket pitch in St James Park and they leave it running for 3 or 4 days at a time, rain or shine. Thousands of litres of water for amateur cricket teams to play on it once a week for 4 or 5 hours. Have complained to CCC as well as the local council rep and just keeps happening. I asked the person I spoke to at CCC last time if the club paid for water and he said "he probably shouldn't answer that". Answer enough.
So much for conserving water, especially in what looks to be a hot, dry summer.
Good job CCC!

Poll: Pedestrian access is being extended to the Ōtakaro Avon River - good idea?
Pedestrian access from one of Christchurch’s favourite streets is being extended all the way to the Ōtakaro Avon River. This new 12m-wide pathway will give you a direct, easy route from the street to the river promenade ... perfect for a stroll, a coffee run, or just soaking up the riverside vibes.
