CAN ANYONE HELP ME? ADVICE NEEDED!
Hi Neighbours
My stroke-disabled husband has died and we need to vacate his St Albans apartment by Monday, 6th May. He bought a King Single Electric Adjustable bed from Harvey Norman in late February, and enjoyed it for 3 weeks before going into hospital. I have no idea how or where to sell it and, with no family in Christchurch, have nowhere to store it. (I live in a separate pensioner flat.)
Does anybody know of any individual ... or a hospital, hospice, or rest home that might be interested in acquiring it for use by a patient or resident? Are there private organisations that look after disabled people who need something bigger than a standard single bed?
In a very stressful situation, I don't know where to start. Your suggestions would be most appreciated.
The bed cost $5500, and has always been used with a mattress protector. It is in as-new condition. Will sell for $4000 to reflect short notice and the buyer's need to collect and transport the bed. Viewing can be arranged. Photos on request.
Please contact Margaret Quin on 022 642 6615 if you can help. Txt or phone. Or email me on mqfamilyemails@gmail.com
Sincere thanks
Marg Quin

Some Choice News!
DOC is rolling out a new tool to help figure out what to tackle first when it comes to protecting our threatened species and the things putting them at risk.
Why does this matter? As Nikki Macdonald from The Post points out, we’re a country with around 4,400 threatened species. With limited time and funding, conservation has always meant making tough calls about what gets attention first.
For the first time, DOC has put real numbers around what it would take to do everything needed to properly safeguard our unique natural environment. The new BioInvest tool shows the scale of the challenge: 310,177 actions across 28,007 sites.
Now that we can see the full picture, it brings the big question into focus: how much do we, as Kiwis, truly value protecting nature — and what are we prepared to invest to make it happen?
We hope this brings a smile!
🎉 Riddle me this, legends! 🎉
He/She who makes it, sells it.
He/She who buys it, doesn't use it.
The user doesn't know they are using it.
What is it?
(Shezz from Ngāruawāhia kindly provided this head-scratcher ... thanks, Shezz!)
