Canterbury earthquake
Following yesterday's large earthquake in Canterbury we stand in support of the communities affected by the quake, particularly the worst-affected areas of Kaikoura and Hurunui. Our thoughts go out to the friends and relatives who lost loved ones.
We thank our Civil Defence, our volunteers, emergency services, our staff and all our residents for their actions yesterday and the work that will go into repairing the region in the following weeks and months.

How much does it cost to join AEA?
There are no dues or fees for joining AEA or attending AEA meetings. We are self-supporting through our own voluntary contributions. At some point during each meeting we pass the basket to help cover expenses, such as the cost of rent and literature. Members are not obliged to contribute, but we usually do so to the extent we are able.
