Williams Corporation are at it again

Greg from Richmond

Public holidays are legally days where construction noise is not permitted on building sites, yet on Easter Monday, Richmond residents were woken to the sounds of drilling coming from the Williams Corporation construction site in Perth Street.
They did the same on Waitangi Day (although that date it was the din and ground vibration of heavy earth moving diggers that broke the silence), so have a documented history of flouting the law.
Perth Street residents had the site shut down after reporting the Easter Monday offence to Noise Control.
A message was also sent to our local City Councillor, Deon Swiggs, asking him why the CCC are not doing more to bring Williams Corporation to account, instead of seemingly turning a blind eye to their antics on a regular basis.
Councillor Swiggs thus far has not responded.
At least two other Williams Corporation construction sites were open.and activew on Easter Monday with loud construction noise emanating from their Latimer Sqaure site. Noise Control were alerted to that offence also.

Scam Alert: Bank cold calls

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

ASB is warning customers about reports of cold calls from scammers claiming to be from ASB. These scammers are trying to obtain personal information, including usernames, dates of birth, and verification codes sent to your mobile phone.

🛡️ The "Caller Check" Test
If you get a call from someone claiming to be from ASB and you’re unsure, just ask them for a Caller Check. You will then be able to verify the call through the app.

Remember, banks will:
❌ Never ask for your banking passwords, PINs, or verification codes
❌ Never need to know your full credit card number – especially the CVC
❌ Never ask you to download software or remotely access your device
❌ Never ask you to purchase gift cards or transfer funds.

If you have received a phone call and think your account has been compromised, call ASB on 0800 ASB FRAUD (0800 272 372), or visit your local branch.
