Great example

John from Woolston

I am interested to find out how many people watch Seven Sharp, week day evenings Ch 1. and who watched the recent story by Tim Wilson about the wonderful young lady Jesse Te Iri Haturini who left her job at 25 to bring her other seven siblings all together so they could be a family. She became their mother figure ensuring they did well at school etc. Last Friday evening there was a follow up to the story when Tim revisited the family to give them a voucher for free dental care, a $1000.00 pampering voucher for Jesse, a free days outing at Rainbows End, another $2000.00 contribution from an individual and a dining table to seat the whole family from Big Save Furniture. Whereas these few gestures were great I was really surprised that many more people didn't decide to also contribute. I have subsequently contacted Tim (Seven Sharp) by email and he rang me this morning to talk further and he is willing to facilitate any further help or donations of money or kind for this amazing family.
I will be interested to hear what others think and will be particularly keen to hear of any suggestions to help this family like creating a Give-a-little page, although I think other gestures could be more appropriate and worthwhile.
What do you think ?

Scam Alert: Bank cold calls

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

ASB is warning customers about reports of cold calls from scammers claiming to be from ASB. These scammers are trying to obtain personal information, including usernames, dates of birth, and verification codes sent to your mobile phone.

🛡️ The "Caller Check" Test
If you get a call from someone claiming to be from ASB and you’re unsure, just ask them for a Caller Check. You will then be able to verify the call through the app.

Remember, banks will:
❌ Never ask for your banking passwords, PINs, or verification codes
❌ Never need to know your full credit card number – especially the CVC
❌ Never ask you to download software or remotely access your device
❌ Never ask you to purchase gift cards or transfer funds.

If you have received a phone call and think your account has been compromised, call ASB on 0800 ASB FRAUD (0800 272 372), or visit your local branch.
