- extending the planting season significantly as the beds will warm faster and hold the warmth
- allowing better drainage
- as the gardener doesn’t walk on the garden bed, the soil doesn’t become compacted
- the soil will remain light and loose allowing it to hold more air helping the vegetable roots to grow with less effort
- ability to reduce the number of weeds
- if using close plant spacing your raised vegetable garden bed will create a micro-climate which will contain moisture and further discourage weeds.
Fill with compost, mulch, good soil and fertiliser mix.
If you are looking for a raised garden bed or planter box see Out of the Woods Woodshop here on Neighbourly.

Older people can worry about having a fall, so much so that their activity reduces and they move less. Their strength decreases, affecting their balance and the risk of a fall increases. We want to know how many Neighbourly members who are over 65 have had a fall or fear falling?
We value our older people and want them to stay well and independent. We want them to Live Stronger for Longer. We’ll share more about why we’re asking next week.

Hi everyone
There was a post not so long ago that gave a few other email addresses to write to with our concerns. I can’t seem to find it and it also had the email for someone at norwest news. Can anyone please link me to the thread or add the addresses to this post.
Thanks

Hey neighbours,
What are your thoughts on tenants paying letting fees? Housing Minister Phil Twyford has put forward a bill that would ban landlords from charging letting fees to tenants. Is the bill a good idea? Let us know in our poll below.

Hey neighbours,
Did you know 230 horses could be slaughtered next month if they aren't rescued in time? Of the 300 wild Kaimanawa horses in need of rescuing, only 66 have homes to go to. Are you able to support the cause?

Hi there,
I’m writing this on behalf of my mum (Kay). She would love some black boy peaches to use for cooking. Mum is willing to collect and pay if necessary.
The lovely person who has already offered them has been inundated.
Pm me if you have some going spare!
