Bad start for Walnut season.
Things aren’t looking good for this year’s walnuts. Plenty on the tree but they seem to be having problems releasing from the husks. Another unusual problem is that someone is eating them on the tree. A count this morning found 40% had been gnawed, presumably by mice, judging by the size of some of the holes in the shells and the successful hollowing out of the meat inside.
Anyone else finding the same?
