Support for Cat Cafe in Christchurch

Bronwyn Reader from Cat Rescue Christchurch

The two lovely people who are trying to set up Christchurch's Cat Cafe are current volunteers of Cat Rescue Christchurch as per below. They are just over half way to their kickstarter goal but need more pledges.

If we can buy a beach we as a community should beable to help this couple in their dream to do a project that will have amazing ripple effects long term for the community, tourism and kittens and cats in need.

Who doesn't want to go and have a coffee and have a cuddle with a wobbler like Clover

Bless😻😻😻😻😻😻😻

It would be great if you could go and like and follow both our facebook page and Catnap Cafe facebook page and see what great things are happening with both ventures.

Ie Cat Rescue is having a quiz night fundraiser on the 20th of August so if you would like to participate, find the it on the EVENT category on the Cat Rescue facebook page, or pm me here.

Thanks

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

DOC is rolling out a new tool to help figure out what to tackle first when it comes to protecting our threatened species and the things putting them at risk.

Why does this matter? As Nikki Macdonald from The Post points out, we’re a country with around 4,400 threatened species. With limited time and funding, conservation has always meant making tough calls about what gets attention first.

For the first time, DOC has put real numbers around what it would take to do everything needed to properly safeguard our unique natural environment. The new BioInvest tool shows the scale of the challenge: 310,177 actions across 28,007 sites.

Now that we can see the full picture, it brings the big question into focus: how much do we, as Kiwis, truly value protecting nature — and what are we prepared to invest to make it happen?

We hope this brings a smile!
