Free vaccinations for dogs

Vanessa from Riccarton

Christchurch City Council

Dogwatch Sanctuary Trust, Kowhai Vet, Avonside Wainoni Vet Clinic and Christchurch City Council are teaming up to give out free parvo vaccinations and microchips for dogs over six months old in the Eastgate Mall car park on Wednesday 23 July and Saturday 26 July🐾🐕‍🦺

In April, Dogwatch rescued an expectant mother who they then found out had parvo. After giving birth, all pups had to be humanely euthanised as they had no chance of survival.

Dogwatch Adoption Centre Manager Rae Rossiter says one little vaccination would have changed the outcome for all of those dogs, and that's what prompted them to organise this event.

The clinic will be open from 10am - 4pm, bookings are not required. Find more information on Newsline:

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
