Grand opening of Bishopdale Village Green
Join us for the opening of the Bishopdale Village Green between 2 – 4pm on Wednesday 2nd December. Speeches and ribbon cutting will take place at 2pm.
Come and celebrate the tremendous generosity of all the wonderful people, groups, and businesses who gave their time and resources to make what was a neglected wasteland into the beautiful and useful community space it is today.
Dave Nicholas from The HITS Christchurch (97.7FM) will broadcast live from the Green 12 - 3pm. PLUS, The Hits Street Team will be cooking up a free sausage sizzle from 2 - 4pm!
Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.
