Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, thereโ€™s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need ๐Ÿช™๐Ÿ’ฐ๐Ÿช™

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship โ€” like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?

Addictive Eaters Anonymous

The Team from Addictive Eaters Anonymous - Christchurch

After ten years of depression, my life had hit rock bottom

I remember being โ€˜differentโ€™ around food for most of my life. This included things such as being the person who had two cream buns at morning tea when everyone else had one; eating icing sugar by the spoonful directly from the packet; and being the family member who went into the kitchen after dinner to eat the leftovers. There are numerous other examples โ€“ too many to list. I could overeat anything. If I couldnโ€™t get my preferred favourites (e.g. chocolate), Iโ€™d be eating the vegetables.

Poll: Do you have a go-to adverse-weather checklist for your family? โ˜”โš ๏ธ

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Press, the same low-pressure system that lashed the North Island over the weekend is now making its way south, bringing heavy rain and strong winds with it. Itโ€™s a soggy start to the week for many of us.

With more wild weather on the cards, weโ€™re curious: do you have a go-to adverse-weather checklist for your family? Or are you more of a โ€œgrab the torches and hope for the bestโ€ household?
