For those of you heading along to the fireworks at New Brighton Pier tomorrow night please have a read here to see the best route and all the road closures below:

From 6pm to Midnight November 5, 2016.

* Oram Avenue From Beresford Street to Hood Street
* Brighton Mall Entire Length
* Beresford Street Entire Length
* Hardy Street From Collingwood Street to Seaview Road
* Hood Street Union Street to Oram Avenue
* Ida Street Entire Length
* Union Street Owles Terrace to Beresford Street
* Seaview Rd Hardy Street to Brighton Mall

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
